A fully self-funded and rebuilt startup: Alipos

In recent years, Uzbekistan has experienced rapid digital transformation. Alongside large corporations, small and medium-sized businesses have also realized that they cannot remain competitive without digital solutions. One standout startup offering a practical, efficient, and user-friendly solution in this space is Alipos.

Founded in 2023, Alipos has quickly established itself as a key technological solution for Uzbekistan’s food service industry.

How the idea was born

Alipos was developed by three specialists from Samarkand — Muhammad Ali Akbarov, Komil Hamidov, and Jonibek Miralimov. By combining their deep industry knowledge and technical expertise, they created an effective Point of Sale (POS) system tailored to the local market.

  • Muhammad Ali Akbarov is a highly qualified developer with 8 years of experience in backend development (Python), frontend (React), and mobile development (React Native).
  • Komil Hamidov is an experienced .NET (C#) developer who has worked on automation projects for major companies such as Agromir and UZBAT.
  • Jonibek Miralimov, the company’s director, has 7 years of experience in management and startup leadership. He is responsible for sales, marketing, and overall strategy.

Initially launched as an outsourcing project, Alipos soon revealed significant potential, prompting the founders to transition to building an independent product and launching it to the market.

The name “Alipos” combines “Ali” from Muhammad Ali Akbarov’s name and “POS” (Point of Sale), clearly reflecting both the creator and the purpose of the product.

Early challenges

During development, the team faced numerous technical issues, including architectural flaws that required them to rebuild the system from scratch three times. These challenges ultimately sharpened the team’s expertise and improved the final product.

Alipos was entirely self-funded, without any external investment. Outsourcing helped the team rapidly build a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), which played a critical role in accelerating progress and laying the foundation for future growth.

Alipos – a modern POS system

Alipos is a SaaS (Software as a Service) product in the form of a POS system. Designed for restaurants, cafes, and other food service establishments, it replaces multiple software tools with one fully integrated platform.

Core features:

  • Sales and cash register management
  • Inventory control
  • User analytics and customer lifetime value (LTV) tracking
  • Financial analysis and reporting
  • Offline functionality
  • 24/7 technical support
  • Flexible onboarding and training

One of the most common issues faced by clients is low profit despite high revenue. This often stems from poor oversight, inefficiencies, and human error. Alipos addresses these challenges by offering automation, centralization, and advanced analytics tools.

Market, monetization, and competition

Alipos is currently in its growth stage. The company charges a one-time implementation fee of $200 per client, followed by a subscription-based model. Pricing plans vary depending on the scope of services required.

Key advantages of Alipos:

  • Fast and simple installation at the client’s location
  • Personalized staff training based on each client’s needs
  • A flexible, customer-oriented onboarding process

Future plans

Alipos aims to expand to regional markets such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Russia, with long-term ambitions to enter Europe and the United States. This expansion will require localization efforts such as multi-language support, adaptation to local tax and legal systems, and consideration of cultural differences.

In the near future, the team also plans to launch an innovative solution in food delivery logistics.

Notably, Alipos has not participated in any incubator or accelerator programs, yet it has grown independently with a clear vision. Today, it stands as a strong team with a mature product and a focus on sustainable growth. What began as a third-party project has evolved into a company ready for international expansion.

According to the founders, if they had the opportunity to start over, they would have invested more in marketing. While Alipos is now one of the largest locally developed POS systems in Uzbekistan, brand recognition still lags behind.

Conclusion

Alipos is not just a POS system — it is a comprehensive digital ecosystem for food service businesses. Thanks to the determination of its founders, the expertise of its team, and a product that evolves with user needs, Alipos has grown from a local idea into a powerful startup with regional and global aspirations.

“Automate your business — it enables you to make data-driven decisions. That’s how you lead your company toward faster growth,” says the Alipos team.
