The Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan has unveiled the LexAI platform, an innovative solution integrating artificial intelligence to address legal inquiries. At its core is an AI-powered chatbot designed to assist both citizens and professional lawyers by providing precise answers based on Uzbekistan’s National Legislative Database.
Over a five-month development period, the chatbot analyzed more than 34,000 current regulatory documents, encompassing 604 million characters of legal data. This ensures that it delivers accurate and up-to-date legal information.
Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Information Technology and Communications Development, highlighted the significance of this initiative:
“The President has tasked us with incorporating artificial intelligence into all areas of life. LexAI is a vital first step. Legal knowledge is essential, but complex legal language often poses challenges. This platform simplifies access to legal information.”
Key features of LexAI include:
- AI-Powered Legal Chatbot: Offers answers to legal questions in real time.
- Document Builder: Enables users to independently draft legal documents without professional legal assistance.
- Regulatory Review Service: Analyzes new regulatory acts for compliance and relevance.
The platform’s development involved extensive collaboration between legal and IT experts. It operates without relying on open-source resources, ensuring security and custom functionality. Currently, the platform is undergoing testing by legal professionals, with a full public rollout scheduled for January next year.
