Meta is in talks to invest more than $10 billion in Scale AI to develop its AI ecosystem, Bloomberg reported, citing sources. If the deal goes through, it would be the largest AI investment in Meta’s history.
Scale AI provides data labeling services that are essential for training AI models for companies like OpenAI and Microsoft. The company made $870 million in revenue last year and is on track to make $2 billion this year.
The company also has a military AI model called Defense Llama, which is based on Meta’s Llama 3. Meta previously participated in Scale AI’s $1 billion Series F round, at which time the company was valued at $13.8 billion.
