YouTube is set to launch its “Premium Lite” subscription soon.

YouTube is reportedly preparing to introduce a more affordable “Premium Lite” subscription tier, according to Bloomberg. This new option is expected to roll out soon in the United States, Australia, Germany, and Thailand.

  • Ad-free access to YouTube’s podcasts and how-to videos
  • Excludes music videos – designed for viewers who primarily watch non-music content

YouTube hasn’t yet revealed the subscription cost, but Premium Lite has already been tested in some international markets.

For reference, YouTube Premium currently costs $13.99/month in the U.S., offering ad-free access to all videos, including music content.
