Zingo.uz: An innovative language learning platform

Zingo.uz is an innovative platform that helps users find suitable conversation partners and learn foreign languages through interactive communication. The project was founded by Behzodkhoja Nigmatkhojaev and Saidnabi Yuldoshkhojaev, who are applying their IT expertise to develop this startup.

The founders

Behzodkhoja Nigmatkhojaev was born in 2002 in Tashkent and has been passionate about computer science since childhood, participating in various Olympiads. After finishing school, he studied at the Oriental Studies Lyceum and later gained experience in the trade sector. In 2022, he developed an interest in IT and started learning programming.

Saidnabi Yuldoshkhojaev, also from Tashkent, has experience in programming and has previously worked at Uztelecom. In 2024, he left his job to co-found Zingo.uz with Behzodkhoja and focus entirely on developing the project.

How the idea was born

Zingo.uz was conceptualized in the summer of 2024 to solve the difficulty of finding suitable conversation partners for learning English. The platform’s core function is to connect users and enhance their speaking skills through live conversations.

The name Zingo does not have a specific meaning. The founders chose it because it is easy to pronounce and remember, making it suitable for international expansion.

ICT Week and Investment

Zingo.uz was presented to foreign investors at ICT Week in Uzbekistan. Out of 17 investors, 12 showed interest and left their contact details. During the event, negotiations with the current investor began, initially reaching a verbal agreement, which was later formalized.

At its initial stage, Zingo.uz secured a $50,000 investment, covering all operational expenses. The startup received significant support from Startup Garage founder Muhammad Khalil, who helped the team overcome various challenges.

Future plans

Currently, Zingo.uz is operating in test mode. Over 150 users have already tested the platform, and the official launch is set for March 2024.

Originally, the project was planned as a Telegram bot, but later, a mobile application was developed. The app is now available on Google Play and the App Store.

Key plans for the future:

  • 2025: Establish a strong presence in the Uzbekistan market.
  • 2026: Expand to global markets and introduce services for multiple languages (English, Russian, Arabic, etc.).
  • AI & VR Integration: Implement advanced AI and VR technologies for enhanced language learning experiences.
  • Venture Capital Partnerships: Secure larger investments to accelerate international growth.

Business model and revenue sources

Zingo.uz generates revenue through:

  1. Subscription Plans: Premium users get access to additional features.
  2. Video Courses: Paid courses for self-paced English learning.

Zingo.uz in Uzbekistan’s startup ecosystem

Uzbekistan’s startup ecosystem is growing rapidly, with incubators like Startup Garage playing a key role. However, one of the biggest challenges for startups in the country is the limited number of users willing to pay for premium services. To address this, Zingo.uz plans to focus on investment and strategic partnerships to ensure sustainable growth.

Conclusion

Zingo.uz is a cutting-edge startup designed to simplify language learning. The founders’ strategic vision and ambitious goals aim to position Zingo.uz as a leading international platform in the field. In a short time, the project is expected to become a top choice for learners seeking effective and interactive language acquisition methods.
