As competition in the generative AI market intensifies, one Central Asian entrepreneur — Alex Mashrabov, founder of the unicorn startup Higgsfield AI — is attracting growing global attention. During Pivot Talk, he spoke for the first time about his background, journey, and the lessons he wants to pass on to young people.
“My parents are mechanical engineering professors. My father is from Andijan. They wanted me to study in the United States, but I enrolled at MIPT first, one of Russia’s strongest technical universities. David Yan and Nikolay Storonsky — well-known tech entrepreneurs — also graduated from MIPT. I think I inherited a bit of that entrepreneurial spirit from them.”
“At 18, turning down an internship offer from Meta felt like a mistake. But later I realized it was one of the best decisions I ever made.” he said.
As he said, taking part in different competitions teaches a person how to present themselves. At a young age — especially before the age of 20 — it is very easy to reshape one’s inner world and rethink one’s relationship with oneself. That is why he believes young people should put themselves into various experiences, including new and even uncomfortable situations, to accelerate their growth.
