As AI becomes an increasingly important part of everyday life, Anthropic has introduced a new feature designed to help users better understand their relationship with artificial intelligence. The company has launched Reflect, a beta feature that analyzes how people use Claude and encourages more intentional and balanced AI usage.
Similar to Spotify Wrapped or YouTube Recap, Reflect doesn’t summarize your music or video habits—it provides insights into your interactions with Claude. Reflect gives users a comprehensive overview of how they have been using Claude over time. The dashboard can display activity from the past month, three months, six months, or even a full year. Users can see:
- What they use Claude for most often;
- The topics they discuss most frequently;
- The days and times when they are most active;
- How their usage patterns have evolved over time.
Unlike traditional usage dashboards, Reflect is designed to promote self-reflection rather than simply display numbers. The feature occasionally asks users questions such as:
- “What tasks would you still choose to do yourself, even if Claude could do them for you?”
- “Is the way you’re using Claude aligned with your personal goals?”
According to Anthropic, these prompts are intended to encourage thoughtful and responsible AI use instead of increasing dependency on AI tools. Reflect also includes features that support healthier AI habits. Users can enable Quiet Hours, allowing them to define periods when Claude will not send notifications or interruptions. The dashboard also offers Break Reminders, encouraging users to take a pause after extended periods of work. Anthropic has also announced plans to introduce screen-time statistics in future updates, giving users an even clearer picture of the time they spend using Claude.
Reflect is currently available in beta for Free, Pro, and Max users. To access the feature, users must have Memory enabled. The dashboard can be found under Settings → Reflection in Claude’s web and desktop applications. Anthropic also emphasizes user privacy. Incognito conversations are excluded from Reflection, and content from connected external services is not analyzed as part of the dashboard.
While OpenAI, Google, and Microsoft continue to focus on AI agents and automation, Anthropic is taking a different approach. Instead of simply expanding what AI can do, the company has introduced a tool that helps users better understand how they use AI. This could signal a new direction for AI products—one where success is measured not only by model capabilities, but also by how thoughtfully and responsibly people interact with them.
