On January 14, a meeting was held at IT Park between IT Park representatives, led by Director General Farhod Ibragimov, and Yuliya Malich, Head of Public and Government Relations at “Bolt.” During the discussions, the parties deliberated on collaboration prospects, enhancing startup expertise in Uzbekistan, and opportunities for technological development. “Bolt” is recognized as one of the leading global players in mobility and delivery services.

Why is this significant?
“Bolt” is one of Europe’s largest super-apps, providing services to over 200 million customers in more than 50 countries (600+ cities). The company is committed to making cities more people-friendly by accelerating the transition from private vehicles to shared mobility. Its offerings include ride-hailing, car-sharing, electric scooter rentals, and food and goods delivery services.

Central Asia, particularly Uzbekistan, holds strategic importance for “Bolt.” The company seeks to establish partnerships with government entities and the Ministry of Digital Development. During the meeting, IT Park representatives proposed leveraging Uzbekistan’s IT talents for the development and support of “Bolt’s” software, in addition to exploring the potential of opening a back-office in the country. Farhod Ibragimov emphasized IT Park’s readiness to provide the necessary resources, including assistance with recruiting skilled personnel, to facilitate the company’s successful operations in Uzbekistan.

Yuliya Malich expressed a strong interest in Uzbekistan’s rapidly growing market, highlighting its fast population growth, a large pool of young professionals, and the active development of digital technologies. These factors make Uzbekistan an attractive destination for new investments. Furthermore, the meeting included discussions on organizing joint events, such as educational workshops where “Bolt” experts could share their experience.

“Bolt’s” engagement in Uzbekistan is expected to create new opportunities to enhance the global competitiveness of local startups and technology companies. This partnership is also anticipated to contribute to advancing the technological knowledge base and fostering the development of the country’s startup ecosystem.
