“Cyber University” state university will be established

On January 20, 2025, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan issued Decree No. PQ-14 to establish the “Cyber University” State University. This decision aims to train highly qualified specialists in digital technologies and cybersecurity and to introduce an innovative education model.

Main objectives of the university
  1. Training Specialists:
    • Specialists in information security, cybersecurity, the digital economy, and artificial intelligence-based systems;
    • Professionals in robotics and other advanced technology fields.
  2. Retraining and Professional Development:
    • Providing advanced digital skills training for government agencies, private sector organizations, and other entities.
  3. Organizing a Modern Education Process:
    • Integrating advanced international educational practices into the curriculum;
    • Expanding learning opportunities for youth through the development of open information and educational environments.
  4. Creating Opportunities for Youth:
    • Providing students and young professionals with additional opportunities to choose careers and acquire skills;
    • Preparing modern standard-compliant specialists for public institutions and enterprises.
  5. Developing Scientific Collaboration and Research:
    • Partnering with leading local and international higher education institutions, research centers, and technology developers;
    • Conducting fundamental and applied research.
  6. Developing Educational and Methodological Resources:
    • Creating teaching materials in digital technology fields;
    • Involving students and professionals in research activities.
Additional Information

The university will aim to accelerate the development of digital technologies in Uzbekistan, support the digital transformation of the economy, and position Uzbekistan as a technological hub on the global stage. It will also contribute to the national strategy on information and cybersecurity.

The university will feature modern educational buildings, laboratories, technology parks, and digital platforms. Students will have the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge through practical projects.

Conclusion

The establishment of “Cyber University” will create a strategic platform to prepare the state and society for digital advancements and will strengthen Uzbekistan’s position in the global technological community.
