IT Park Uzbekistan and the Moscow-based Creative Industries Agency (KSA) have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop the video game industry. The meeting was attended by Mahliyo Muksinova, Director for Export of IT Services at IT Park, Gulnora Agamova, Director General of KSA, and Aleksandr Bodrov, Deputy Director General of the NGO “Development of the Video Game Industry.”
Key areas of cooperation include:
- Supporting Uzbek game studios through the Moscow Video Games Hub
- Launching joint acceleration and educational programs
- Initiating discussions on establishing a dedicated accelerator
- Ensuring participation in major GameDev events in Uzbekistan and Russia
Under the memorandum, IT Park Uzbekistan and Uzbek game studios will participate in the Video Games Week and the Creative Industries Week to be held in Moscow in November. In turn, KSA representatives expressed their intention to take part in IT Park’s events during ICT Week 2025 in Tashkent.
The Creative Industries Agency (KSA) — established in 2020 by the Moscow Government — serves as a support center for creative businesses in areas such as art industries, architecture, video games, software, design, cinema, and new media. With the support of KSA, Russia’s first video games and animation development cluster — the Moscow Video Games Hub — is developing at the Skolkovo Innovation Center.
The significance of this partnership:
- Provides opportunities for international knowledge exchange
- Expands access to education and infrastructure
- Accelerates residency opportunities in specialized hubs
- Opens access to new markets and investors
This memorandum marks an important step in accelerating the development of Uzbekistan’s GameDev ecosystem and strengthening the country’s position as a regional creative hub.
