Kazakhstan is launching a Venture Fund of Funds aimed at attracting $1 billion in private investments. This initiative seeks to develop the startup ecosystem, strengthen Kazakhstan’s position as a regional hub for technology and innovation, and attract global expertise, according to the Prime Minister’s press service.
Olzhas Bektenov emphasized that the creation of the venture fund marks a significant step in transforming the economy.
“Today, Kazakhstan’s IT sector is growing rapidly, with an increase in digital services exports. Young specialists are in high demand both domestically and internationally. Our primary goal is to create conditions for attracting local and new talent, supporting startups at all stages, and integrating global expertise into Kazakhstan,” said Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov during a meeting with leading experts in venture financing, local business community representatives, and international partners.
Objectives of the Fund:
• Attract $1 billion in private investments;
• Finance leading global, regional, and local venture funds;
• Support startups in areas such as artificial intelligence and digital healthcare.
Implementation of the Project
Major local business representatives have already expressed their readiness to contribute over $100 million to the fund’s initial capital. The project is expected to ensure effective economic diversification and provide access to critical technologies.
Projections indicate that the global artificial intelligence market will reach $827 billion by 2030, making it one of the most promising areas for venture investments.
“The fund will focus on key technological sectors such as artificial intelligence, digital healthcare, and others. By 2030, the global AI market is expected to grow to $827 billion, positioning it as a top priority for investment,” the press service added.
The establishment of the Venture Fund of Funds is expected to significantly advance Kazakhstan’s innovation ecosystem, support young professionals, and attract global capital for economic transformation.
