The Startup Garage initiative has expanded its presence in Uzbekistan with the opening of a new branch in Nukus. Located in the building of AloqaBank at 102 Islam Karimov Street, this new hub aims to foster the startup ecosystem in Karakalpakstan by providing aspiring entrepreneurs with essential resources and mentorship.
With the launch of the Nukus branch, the number of Startup Garage locations across the country has reached six. Earlier this year, similar centers were opened in Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Samarkand, Navoi, and Bukhara regions. Each of these hubs is designed to help young innovators turn their ideas into viable businesses.
The main objectives of Startup Garage include supporting young entrepreneurs in developing and scaling their startup ideas, assisting them in creating minimum viable products (MVPs), and connecting them with experienced mentors. Additionally, the initiative provides office space, technical infrastructure, legal support, and integration into the banking ecosystem. A key focus is on attracting investments and helping startups expand into domestic and international markets.
The opening ceremony in Nukus gathered around 80 young participants eager to explore new opportunities in the startup ecosystem. Representatives from AloqaVentures held an informative session explaining the role of venture capital in supporting startups and outlining the investment process.
Following the event, 10 startup founders had the opportunity to present their projects to industry experts. As a result, two promising projects were selected to become residents of Startup Garage, granting them access to mentorship, funding opportunities, and business development support.
With its expanding network of innovation hubs, Startup Garage continues to drive the growth of Uzbekistan’s startup ecosystem, providing young entrepreneurs with the necessary tools to transform their ideas into successful businesses.
