The Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, held a meeting with Ibrahim Neyaz, the head of Saudi Arabia’s National Technology Development Program (NTDP). The discussions centered on outsourcing IT services, developing the sector, and creating new opportunities for Uzbek specialists.
During the meeting, prospects for expanding IT services in Uzbekistan, providing high-income jobs for local professionals, and supporting technological startups were explored. Special emphasis was placed on collaboration between IT Park and NTDP to create an acceleration program and broaden international opportunities for local startups.
The potential participation of Uzbek startups in the “LEAP 2025” event, to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on February 9–12, 2025, was also discussed. This event is expected to serve as a significant platform for introducing local startups to the global market.
At the conclusion of the meeting, an agreement was reached to establish a joint working group to implement collaboration in key areas. This partnership aims to enhance Uzbekistan’s technological potential and foster the growth of IT services exports.
