The laboratory operates under the joint innovation entrepreneurship center U-Enter.

A 3D printing laboratory for startups, K-Lab Uzbekistan, has begun operations in Tashkent, as reported by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The lab is located at the Uzbekistan-Korea Innovation Entrepreneurship Center U-Enter, which was opened in June 2023. The project aims to implement 3D technologies and develop local technological infrastructure.

The cost of K-Lab Uzbekistan amounted to around $1.6 million. The project was carried out with the participation of South Korea’s National IT Industry Promotion Agency, whose head, Huh Seong Wook, attended the opening ceremony.

The launch of the project will facilitate the training of local specialists in 3D printing, according to the Chamber of Commerce. Three startups received grants to implement their initiatives with the help of K-Lab: one team was awarded 25 million UZS, while two others received 10 million UZS each.

In July, the U-Enter center, together with ERGO Analytics, conducted a study on the challenges startups face. The most common issues cited by respondents were the lack of investment and insufficient knowledge and skills.
