Uzbekistan has taken another significant step toward advancing its artificial intelligence ecosystem with the launch of a new AI Cluster at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT) named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi. The initiative is designed to accelerate AI research, train highly skilled specialists, and support the development of innovative startups and digital solutions. According to officials, the project will serve as a bridge between academia, industry, and government while strengthening the country’s AI capabilities.

The AI Cluster is equipped with modern GPU computing infrastructure and high-performance servers capable of handling large-scale datasets, machine learning workloads, and AI model development. This infrastructure will enable researchers, students, and startups to develop and test advanced artificial intelligence applications in a collaborative environment.

The new facility includes several specialized spaces dedicated to different stages of AI innovation. These include an AI Laboratory for scientific research, an AI Prototyping Room for developing and testing new products, and an AI Lecture Room designed for education, workshops, and professional training. The cluster also provides facilities for projects related to 3D design, the Internet of Things (IoT), and startup development.

The opening ceremony brought together representatives from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Digital Technologies, the Presidential Administration, the Cabinet of Ministers, technology companies, researchers, and university students. During the event, officials also demonstrated the AI module of the ServSig project and showcased several new AI-powered research initiatives and startup projects.

The launch of the AI Cluster represents another milestone in Uzbekistan’s broader strategy to become a regional leader in artificial intelligence. In recent years, the country has significantly expanded investments in digital infrastructure, AI education, and innovation programs. By providing researchers, entrepreneurs, and students with access to modern computing resources, the new cluster is expected to accelerate the commercialization of AI technologies and foster the next generation of AI-driven startups.

As global competition in artificial intelligence continues to intensify, Uzbekistan is increasingly positioning itself not only as a consumer of AI technologies but also as a growing contributor to AI research and innovation in Central Asia.
