During a visit to the construction site of the new metallurgical plant in Bekabad, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the project and highlighted plans to implement a centralized AI-powered management system to oversee production processes. The system is expected to monitor and coordinate key operations in real time, improving overall efficiency and operational control.
According to the project, the new facility will have an annual production capacity of 1 million tons of steel products, making it one of the country’s major industrial investments. The project is expected to strengthen Uzbekistan’s metallurgical sector while increasing the production of higher value-added steel products.
The AI-based management platform will help optimize manufacturing processes, continuously monitor equipment performance, detect potential failures before they occur, and reduce energy and raw material consumption. These capabilities are expected to improve productivity, lower operating costs, and ensure consistent product quality.
Globally, leading steel manufacturers are increasingly adopting artificial intelligence for predictive maintenance, automated production control, quality inspection, and supply chain optimization. Uzbekistan’s decision to integrate AI into a large-scale industrial project reflects the country’s broader push toward digital transformation and smart manufacturing.
Beyond expanding steel production capacity, the new metallurgical complex represents an important step toward integrating advanced digital technologies into Uzbekistan’s industrial sector.
