Uzum invests $500 million in Uzbekistan’s e-commerce infrastructure

Success in e-commerce isn’t determined by having an online marketplace alone. Fast delivery, efficient warehousing, and a reliable logistics network have become just as important as the platform itself. With that in mind, Uzum has announced that it has invested $500 million in developing Uzbekistan’s e-commerce infrastructure. According to the company, the investment has been directed toward expanding logistics centers, building modern warehouses, strengthening IT infrastructure, and improving the nationwide order fulfillment and delivery network.

Today, merchants on Uzum Market benefit from what the company describes as the largest e-commerce logistics complex in Uzbekistan. This infrastructure enables businesses to store inventory, process orders more efficiently, and deliver products to customers faster across the country. The company is also planning another major expansion. Between 2026 and 2028, Uzum intends to multiply its logistics capacity in both Tashkent and the regions. The roadmap includes launching a new sorting center and a dedicated warehouse complex designed to handle large and oversized goods.

These investments extend beyond the company’s own growth. A stronger logistics network helps accelerate the development of Uzbekistan’s broader digital economy by creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs, reducing delivery times, improving customer experience, and making it easier for businesses to scale online. The strategy reflects a global trend. Companies such as Amazon, Alibaba, and JD.com became e-commerce leaders not only by building successful marketplaces, but by investing billions of dollars in logistics infrastructure, fulfillment centers, and supply chain technology.

Uzbekistan’s e-commerce industry is entering a new phase. Competition is no longer defined solely by product selection or discounts—it increasingly depends on logistics capabilities and technological infrastructure. Uzum’s $500 million investment signals that the future of e-commerce in Uzbekistan will be built not only through digital marketplaces, but through the infrastructure that powers them. As the ecosystem continues to expand, these investments are expected to create new business opportunities, improve delivery efficiency, and accelerate the country’s digital transformation.
