Four applications submitted on August 9 to the Ministry of Justice are currently pending. Yandex declined to comment on the situation.
The Russian company Yandex has filed trademark applications for “Yandex Lavka” in Uzbekistan, according to data from the online portal of intellectual property services.
On August 9, four Yandex applications were registered with the Ministry of Justice, and they are currently “in the waiting period.” The trademarks are of the combined type with transliterations “IZ LAVKI” and “Yandex Lavka.” The selected colors are white and blue.
The Yandex press service declined to comment to Spot about the possibility of launching the “Yandex Lavka” online store in Uzbekistan.
Earlier, in early July, it became possible to rent scooters in Tashkent through the Yandex Go mobile app. Users can reserve up to three scooters with one account. The rental price starts from 890 UZS per minute. Additionally, Yandex Uzbekistan plans to open its own office in the capital.
Previously, Spot reported that Yandex is launching IT internships in Tashkent.
“Yandex Lavka” is a service for ordering ready-made meals, groceries, and household goods from local warehouses via a mobile app or website. This food-tech initiative by Yandex was launched in 2019.
