Izzat Shukurov will be responsible for developing services and identifying new growth opportunities.
Izzat Shukurov has been appointed as the new head of Yandex Uzbekistan, as reported by the company’s press service to Spot.
He will be responsible for developing Yandex’s existing services in the country. His tasks also include creating additional functionality for users and businesses based on the company’s technologies, products, and international experience.
“My role at the company is to find new growth opportunities for Yandex in Uzbekistan while simultaneously supporting the country through Yandex’s initiatives and projects. Many young people dream of working at Yandex, and the company’s educational projects and initiatives that integrate youth into the international IT community are already helping Uzbekistan strengthen its technological development. Together, we will work on expanding such projects,” commented Izzat Shukurov on his appointment.
Before joining Yandex, Shukurov managed projects in technology and e-commerce. Notably, he served as the head of Central Asia at the fintech company Payze. Additionally, he led Newmax Technologies. Some of the projects launched under his leadership include the Maxtrack transport management service, the Workly time management system, the MyTaxi ride-hailing aggregator, and the Express24 food delivery service.
Earlier, Spot reported that Yandex had applied for trademark registration for the online store “Yandex Lavka” in Uzbekistan.
