Kazakhstan’s EdTech startup CodiPlay recently secured $9 million in Series A funding, achieving a valuation of $100 million. The funding round included prominent investors from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar. Among them were the Executive Vice President of Strategy at Qatar National Bank, renowned business angel Christian Eichner, and the private equity fund Global Capital. The funds will support CodiPlay’s expansion in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region, particularly in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.

CodiPlay’s mission and activities

CodiPlay is a platform offering innovative solutions for general education schools, focusing on enhancing students’ digital literacy. Through the platform, children learn to create devices based on IoT gadgets, ranging from “smart homes” to drones that respond to commands in real-time. This approach fosters critical thinking, creativity, and independent decision-making skills in students.

Expansion plans

CodiPlay aims to integrate 3,000 schools across the MENA region into its ecosystem within the next two years. This ambitious goal positions the company as a pioneering Kazakh EdTech project with a vision for global leadership.

Founders and Origins

The founders of CodiPlay are experienced professionals in education and technology. Their mission is to empower children not only to learn about technology but also to apply it practically in their lives. This vision stems from the desire to transform traditional approaches to education and equip students with future-ready skills.

Global recognition

The successful completion of this funding round enhances CodiPlay’s international reputation and highlights growing global interest in Kazakh startups. It also underscores the potential for innovative EdTech solutions to drive educational progress worldwide.

CodiPlay’s expansion in the MENA region aims to significantly contribute to improving digital skills among students. The company is committed to becoming a regional leader in educational innovation, shaping the future of learning in the digital age.
