President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has outlined seven national development programs for Uzbekistan, including a target to increase the country’s GDP to $300 billion by 2030. The new economic program aims to attract $450 billion in foreign investment over the next 10 years and create 2 million jobs in high-value industries.
Startups, venture capital and artificial intelligence have been identified as priority areas for economic growth. The program also focuses on building an ecosystem that can help small businesses scale into medium-sized companies and medium-sized firms grow into large enterprises and corporations.
The $300 billion target replaces the previous goal of more than $240 billion in GDP by 2030, announced in December 2025. Mirziyoyev also said that, if the planned reforms are implemented, GDP per capita could exceed $10,000 over the next decade.
The remaining national programs cover education and skills, healthcare, water and environmental policy, judicial independence and the rule of law, the role of mahallas in local budgeting and infrastructure projects, and foreign policy.
The healthcare program aims to raise public health-related government spending to 5% of GDP within five years. The environmental program targets the full adoption of water-saving technologies on agricultural land over the same period. Specific budgets, responsible agencies and an overall implementation timeline for the programs have not yet been announced.
