Kazakhstan-based investment company Dasco Capital and Qazaqstan Investment Corporation (QIC) have signed a strategic cooperation agreement for the $50 million Tolqyn AI Venture Fund, which will focus on artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and creative industries.
Under the planned structure, 50% of the fund’s capital will be allocated to projects in Kazakhstan, Central Asia, and the Caucasus, while the remaining half will target startups in global markets. Kazakhstan will serve as the core market for the fund’s regional portfolio.
The Tolqyn AI Venture Fund is expected to invest in scalable projects across AI, digital technologies, film, animation, and other creative sectors. Alongside supporting Kazakhstani startups, the fund will also provide an opportunity to invest in promising international companies.
According to QIC, the fund is intended to strengthen Kazakhstan’s technology and creative entrepreneurship ecosystem and help turn local ideas and expertise into marketable products and sustainable companies. Dasco Capital, meanwhile, highlighted the growing impact of AI on film, animation, and content creation.
For Central Asia, the deal is a notable signal: larger pools of venture capital are beginning to emerge for AI and creative technologies across the region. However, the exact amount of QIC’s investment and the final terms of its participation have yet to be determined in the fund documentation.
