According to Oxford Insights, Uzbekistan has risen 17 places to 70th place out of 188 countries. This indicates the country’s growing potential in the field of AI.
With a score of 53.45, Uzbekistan ranks 3rd in South and Central Asia after India and Turkey. This places it as a leader in the Central Asian region.
The index assesses the ability of governments to adopt AI based on 40 key indicators.
This achievement is in line with Uzbekistan’s “Digital Uzbekistan – 2030” initiative.
The goals under the National AI Strategy – 2030 are:
- To reach 50th place in the global AI Readiness Index.
- To create 100,000 new technology jobs.
- Train 1,000 AI professionals.
AI is transforming the following key areas:
- Banking: Fraud prevention and predictive analytics.
- Healthcare: Disease diagnosis and patient data management.
- Agriculture: Resource management and crop monitoring.
To support this growth, Uzbekistan plans to:
- Build 10 AI research laboratories.
- Deploy national high-performance computing servers.
- Launch more than 200 AI projects.
Uzbekistan is demonstrating high performance in developing a national AI strategy, data governance, and open data policy.
By 2030, Uzbekistan will become a leading AI and IT hub in Central Asia, ensuring innovation, progress, and prosperity.
