According to Oxford Insights, Uzbekistan has risen 17 places to 70th place out of 188 countries. This indicates the country’s growing potential in the field of AI.

With a score of 53.45, Uzbekistan ranks 3rd in South and Central Asia after India and Turkey. This places it as a leader in the Central Asian region.

The index assesses the ability of governments to adopt AI based on 40 key indicators.

This achievement is in line with Uzbekistan’s “Digital Uzbekistan – 2030” initiative.

The goals under the National AI Strategy – 2030 are:

  • To reach 50th place in the global AI Readiness Index.
  • To create 100,000 new technology jobs.
  • Train 1,000 AI professionals.

AI is transforming the following key areas:

  • Banking: Fraud prevention and predictive analytics.
  • Healthcare: Disease diagnosis and patient data management.
  • Agriculture: Resource management and crop monitoring.

To support this growth, Uzbekistan plans to:

  • Build 10 AI research laboratories.
  • Deploy national high-performance computing servers.
  • Launch more than 200 AI projects.

Uzbekistan is demonstrating high performance in developing a national AI strategy, data governance, and open data policy.

By 2030, Uzbekistan will become a leading AI and IT hub in Central Asia, ensuring innovation, progress, and prosperity.
