According to the new presidential decree, by the end of 2026, the task was set to launch at least 200 startups in promising areas such as artificial intelligence, “green” technologies, medicine, and agriculture.
According to the decree, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Agency for Innovative Development, the UzVC Venture Fund, the Business Development Bank, and the Entrepreneurship Development Company were tasked with implementing these projects.
The priority areas are:
- artificial intelligence, blockchain, big data, and digital technologies;
- “green” energy and resource-saving technologies;
- innovative medical services;
- heating and cooling based on alternative energy solutions;
- water saving and recycling technologies;
- increasing land productivity and solving irrigation problems;
- growing plants suitable for arid regions.
Also, the sale of startup products in government procurement is allowed. To this end, the process of including them in standards will be simplified. By the end of June, a startup coordination center will be established under UzVC. The National Venture Fund will have the right to directly invest in startups. The Central Bank and commercial banks will allocate $50 million to startups through the United Ventures and SQB Ventures funds. In addition, state banks and ministries are planning to attract another $50 million from abroad by April.
