According to the company, this model rivals OpenAI’s O1 model across several key benchmarks.

Despite the export restrictions on chips imposed by the United States on China, DeepSeek has achieved significant results in the AI sector. These restrictions pushed the company to search for innovative solutions aimed at resource optimization and increased efficiency.

The company simplified its data processing, significantly reducing memory and energy consumption. It also implemented the DualPipe algorithm to synchronize data transfer and processing operations. This algorithm enables the simultaneous execution of data transfer and computational processes, minimizing time loss and boosting overall system efficiency.

Additionally, DeepSeek developed and applied proprietary algorithms, including DeepSeekMoE and Multi-Token Prediction (MTP) technologies. The DeepSeekMoE algorithm efficiently distributes loads across different parts of the model, contributing to resource savings during computations. Meanwhile, the MTP strategy enhances the model’s speed and accuracy by enabling the prediction of multiple tokens simultaneously. These approaches have further optimized the data analysis process, allowing the company to achieve significant breakthroughs in artificial intelligence.

The solutions implemented by DeepSeek demonstrate the company’s ability to drive technological revolutions despite limited resources, setting new standards in the AI industry.

The model’s code is openly available, providing the scientific community and developers the opportunity to utilize, enhance, and adapt this technology for various tasks.

This open-source approach has yielded multiple benefits for the company. Firstly, it has created extensive opportunities for research and innovation. The scientific community can analyze the model and contribute to improving its efficiency. Secondly, leveraging open-source models helps popularize technology and broaden its application scope.

DeepSeek’s move has intensified competition in the AI sector, narrowing the gap between open-source and closed-source technologies. The company’s approach not only showcases its technical capabilities but also contributes to the industry’s overall development.

This open-source strategy opens new doors for scientific collaboration and promotes the democratization of technology. Through this approach, DeepSeek is making a significant contribution to the future of AI technologies.
