The “E-KON” project implemented by Uzbekneftegaz JSC was declared the “Best Project of the Year” in the fuel and energy sector at an international competition organized by the international professional IT community Global CIO.

This result went down in history as one of Uzbekistan’s achievements in the field of digital transformation and further strengthened the country’s prestige not only domestically, but also internationally.

This project is one of the important reforms being implemented in accordance with the decree of the head of our state “On approval of the Digital Uzbekistan – 2030 Strategy and measures for its effective implementation.” Its main goal is to increase efficiency through digitalization of fields under the jurisdiction of Uzbekneftegaz JSC.

Within the framework of the project, the “E-KON” information system has been developed and put into practice to date. A total of 80 gas preparation devices have been completed in the oil and gas production departments under the company. As a result, it has become possible to monitor the parameters of natural gas extracted from wells in real time online and take emergency measures if necessary.

The Global CIO international competition is held annually to identify the most advanced and effective IT projects in the world and to introduce them to the general public. It selects and recognizes best practices, innovative decisions, and digital transformation projects in the technological field on an international scale.

In 2024, a total of 129 projects from more than 30 countries were submitted to the competition. More than 500 IT managers participated in the discussions. Among the winners were prestigious companies from Uzbekistan, China, Brazil, India, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Malaysia, Turkey, and the USA.

Another joyful fact is that Norkulov In’om Eshmirzayevich, Head of the Information and Communication Technologies Department of Uzbekneftegaz JSC, was included in the list of the most active IT leaders in the world in the international Global CIO professional IT community.
