On October 21, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inaugurated the construction of a new $150 million data center in Tashkent’s IT Park, in partnership with Saudi Arabia’s Data Volt.
The facility will begin with a 12 MW capacity, but expansion plans aim to reach 500 MW, making it one of the largest data infrastructures in Central Asia.
$3 Billion in additional investment and the vision of an “AI Hub”
In the coming stages, the project is expected to attract an additional $3 billion in investments.
The IT Park territory will expand by 1.5 times, featuring a Center for Artificial Intelligence, a Center for Space and Future Technologies, two 20-story office towers, and new service and retail complexes.

This ambitious development will transform IT Park into a regional “AI Hub” — a cluster where innovation, data infrastructure, and advanced technologies converge.
IT Park: The new engine of digital growth and exports
Over the past two years, IT Park has become the heart of Uzbekistan’s tech ecosystem:
- More than 3,200 resident companies are operating within the park,
- Employing over 14,000 professionals,
- The total value of services in 2024 is projected to exceed $2.5 billion,
- With exports surpassing $1 billion for the first time.
These figures underscore Uzbekistan’s rapid transition from an emerging digital player to a regional technology hub.
“Uzbekistan – 2030”: 300,000 new jobs in IT
Under the “Uzbekistan – 2030” strategy, more than 300,000 young people are expected to secure high-paying jobs in the IT sector.
According to international experts, the artificial intelligence market alone could contribute up to $10 billion in value to Uzbekistan’s economy.
President Mirziyoyev’s statement
“I am confident that this major initiative, which we are launching today, will make a worthy contribution to achieving our strategic goals and further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and foreign investors,”
— said President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Conclusion: Laying the foundation for a digital future
The $150 million data center is more than just a construction project — it is a cornerstone of Uzbekistan’s digital independence, technological sovereignty, and global credibility.
Through this strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan is positioning itself as the digital heart of Central Asia, where innovation, infrastructure, and ambition align toward a shared future.
