Uzbekistan-based startup Spaceborne has been selected as one of 16 finalists of the international Constructor Start program, after more than 2,100 applications were submitted.
Spaceborne is developing a new propulsion concept for satellites. Its technology uses microwave energy to generate heat and create thrust, offering a different approach to conventional satellite propulsion systems.
The startup was selected among projects from around the world working on advanced technologies, including space, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies and other DeepTech fields.
Spaceborne’s selection also marks a notable step for Uzbekistan’s emerging DeepTech ecosystem, as the startup is representing the country in the international final of the program.
The final is taking place in Bremen, Germany, where the 16 selected startups will present their technologies and compete for further support.
As part of the program, Constructor Capital can provide up to $100,000 in direct investment to selected winning teams, while the overall funding opportunities associated with the program can reach up to $1 million.
Spaceborne’s participation gives an Uzbek startup an opportunity to present its space technology to an international audience and connect with investors and other DeepTech companies.
