Alif: How a Fintech Company’s Office is Set Up
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Telegram

How Alif creates an optimal work environment and what it offers for the comfort and productivity of its employees.

Alif is an international fintech company with projects in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, and the UAE. Alif has been operating in Uzbekistan for five years and today offers a super-app solution with mini-applications, including:

  • Marketplace Shop;
  • Installment plan Nasiya.

In the office, one immediately notices a wall displaying the seven core values of Alif. These values define the work, interaction with colleagues and clients, and approaches to problem-solving. Every Alif employee contributes to upholding and developing these values, creating an inspiring atmosphere for everyone.

Alif Office
Alif’s office space provides all the necessary conditions for the comfort of employees and guests.

The workspace is designed in an Open Space format, which encourages the exchange of ideas and quick communication between colleagues. For private work and online meetings, there are phone booths – small cabins with soundproofing. Capsule chairs and beanbags are also scattered around the office, perfect for short breaks or focused work.

  • Avia ticket booking service;
  • Access to 1000 types of services – government services, payments and transfers, bill payments, and obtaining certificates.
    A distinctive feature of Alif is its adherence to Islamic finance principles.

Values at Alif
The company’s office is cozily located in the heart of Tashkent — on the grounds of the Tashkent City complex. At the entrance to the meeting rooms, used for brainstorming sessions and strategic meetings, QR codes are placed for booking the room in advance. This booking system simplifies the organization process and ensures the availability of meeting rooms when needed.

The office has three kitchens equipped with coffee machines, where employees can enjoy fresh coffee and snacks. Each kitchen is fully equipped for lunch breaks.

During breaks, employees can relax by playing table tennis on the terrace. Informal zones are used for team meetings and collaboration.

Separate cozy rest rooms for men and women provide a space to relax, use massage chairs, or spend time playing video games. Employees can use these rooms at any time during the workday to recharge and maintain productivity.

The Heart of Alif – People
When Alif first started in Tashkent, the team consisted of just six employees, but today that number has grown to 300. While there are more men in the company, many managerial roles are held by women. The team also includes expats from Tajikistan and Russia.

Alif adheres to ethical principles, and the hiring process is no exception. Employees are recruited through job fairs and job search platforms, with a focus on talent development and retention. During their employment, every employee has the opportunity to apply for an open position within the company.

The company not only emphasizes the recruitment of professionals but also their career growth and development within the company and department, fostering long-term cooperation.

Alif employees can take online courses at the company’s expense, developing both hard and soft skills. Every Wednesday after work, a Speaking Club is held with a native speaker to improve language skills.

There are numerous examples of career growth from different departments: a partner relations specialist showed an interest in IT and worked on projects. Eventually, he transitioned to the IT department. Many employees, after a year, become department heads or create new teams from scratch. Growth depends on the level of involvement and is unique in each case.
