Bloomberg reported that Apple could unveil the new iPhone SE and PowerBeats Pro 2 headphones on February 11, 2025. The launch is likely to be relatively small, as the company has yet to issue official invitations.
Information about the new iPhone SE
This new device will be the fourth generation of the iPhone SE line, and the first model not to be released since 2022. It is considered a budget option, like previous generations. The third-generation iPhone SE, introduced in 2022, was priced at $ 429 and had a design similar to the iPhone 8. However, this model was discontinued in the European Union due to its incompatibility with common charging ports.
The new iPhone SE is expected to be equipped with a USB-C port, which indicates that Apple is completely abandoning the Lightning port. This model may also have a design similar to the iPhone 14 line and be equipped with a Face ID biometric security system instead of a Touch ID button.
The new iPhone SE is also expected to be compatible with the Apple Intelligence system. This system is also used in the iPhone 16 models and iPhone 15 Pro devices. The new SE could be the first device to feature an Apple-made modem, part of the company’s strategy to reduce its reliance on third-party chipmakers like Qualcomm.
China and India: Key Markets
The new iPhone SE is expected to attract a lot of interest outside the US, especially in China and India. China has long been a key market for Apple, but the company has struggled in recent quarters. iPhone sales in China fell 11% last year. The decline was driven by the growth of local manufacturers, particularly Huawei.
PowerBeats Pro 2: The next generation of headphones
The iPhone SE is also expected to be accompanied by the PowerBeats Pro 2 headphones. These new Bluetooth headphones are the sixth generation of the company’s earbuds, which were first introduced in 2018. The new earbuds could feature a heart rate monitor, marking another step in Apple’s push into health technology.
Upcoming Products
Apple is expected to introduce M4 processor updates for the MacBook Air and iPad Air later this year, as well as expand the company’s smart home lineup. The smart home hub is expected to feature a display, which could also signal Apple’s first foray into robotics.
However, these products are not expected to be included in the February 11 event.
Apple is looking to strengthen its position in the budget segment with the new iPhone SE and PowerBeats Pro 2. The company is also preparing to continue its leadership in the technology sector, targeting key markets such as China and India.
