The IT Park Uzbekistan hosted the Central Asian Business Expo 2024, bringing together over 70 companies from Central Asia and North America. The event was organized by the Ministry of Digital Technologies, IT Park Uzbekistan, and CabExpo, with a primary focus on strengthening business connections, particularly in the logistics sector.
In his opening remarks, Sherzod Shermatov, the Minister of Digital Technologies, emphasized:
“The government prioritizes the development of the IT sector and continues to provide comprehensive support to companies. During his open dialogue with entrepreneurs, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, announced that business incentives have been extended until 2040.
Additionally, the upcoming Enterprise Uzbekistan project will open new opportunities. We invite ITES companies to collaborate with us, and we are committed to creating an environment that fosters their comfort and success in doing business.”
The expo featured a job fair for Uzbekistan’s youth, where more than 30 leading companies showcased their vacancies and career prospects for talented specialists. Attendees had the chance to explore employer requirements in the logistics sector and assess their own career potential.
Gulshanbek Ravshanbek, President of CABXPO, addressed participants, stating:
“Our mission is to unite the peoples of Central Asia and foster strong connections between communities. With the support of Minister Sherzod Shermatov, we are achieving significant progress in bringing together countries and nations in the region.
We aim to help companies expand their horizons in international markets, particularly in the United States. A network of 20 companies has already been established in Chicago, focused on joint truck acquisitions and resource sharing. Through collaboration, we accelerate business growth and enhance efficiency.
This is just the beginning. We invite Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Turkey to join us on this transformative journey.”
The event presented significant opportunities for young specialists studying foreign languages and acquiring in-demand skills. As the IT industry continues to expand, it is creating more job opportunities, allowing professionals to build international careers while remaining in their home country.
Today, Uzbekistan is home to more than 310 IT Park residents, primarily serving markets in the United States and Europe. IT Park provides these companies with resources, infrastructure, and support to enable rapid growth and entry into global markets.
“Logistics is one of the key sectors where we have achieved significant success. Our projects in North America are a clear testament to this. Companies from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have made a notable impact, working night shifts to meet the global demands of clients in Europe and the United States,” said Sultonmurod Rasulov, Head of Export Development for North America at IT Park.
As part of the expo, a panel discussion titled “Driving Talent Forward: Outsourcing Workforce for Freight Transportation in Uzbekistan” was held. The session focused on the key skills needed to build a career in logistics, with speakers including Mohinur Abdukhakimova (Lucid Logistics Academy), Zafar Yusupov (Loadmode), and moderator Nadira Saip (Inctec).
On December 27, a closed session was held for logistics company representatives, where participants discussed collaboration and shared experiences.
Central Asian Business Expo 2024 served not only as a business platform but also as a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening the country’s economic potential. American companies explored Uzbekistan’s opportunities, infrastructure, and young talent, with many expressing intentions to open offices in the country.
For young professionals, the event marked an important step in understanding the prospects of supply chain management.
