One of Uzbekistan’s most dynamic edtech startups, Osnova, has reached a new milestone — the project has raised $100,000 in funding from UC Ventures, a venture capital fund under the Uzcard ecosystem. UC Ventures has previously invested in several promising startups, including Hero Study, IOKA, Platma, and Biznes Navigator.
From Pre-Seed to Seed Stage
Osnova’s co-founder Alisher Jumaniyozov and his team secured their first pre-seed investment in 2024 from a group of local business angels. Now, the startup has successfully closed its seed round, with plans to attract an additional $200,000 in the near future.
The newly raised funds will be directed toward platform scaling, integrating AI into the learning process, and developing new courses. The goal is to make education not only modern but also structured and efficient.
New opportunities for local learners
Osnova is an online learning platform offering courses in SMM, project management, HR, and marketing. It also provides practical training on widely used digital tools like Figma, Tilda, 1C, and Midjourney.
While such educational content is widely available in Russian and English, there has long been a shortage of Uzbek-language materials. Osnova is bridging that gap — and doing it successfully.
Today, the platform boasts over 80,000 users, up from around 40,000 in the spring of 2025. This growth is not just a result of marketing, but of innovative learning formats and strategic collaborations.
Bilimxona: a new format in digital education
Recently, Osnova launched Bilimxona, a digital skills library, in partnership with Ipoteka Bank. This initiative helps young professionals develop practical, in-demand skills that match the needs of today’s job market.
From platform to system
Osnova’s long-term vision goes beyond being just an e-learning platform. The company is evolving into a comprehensive educational ecosystem — a space for learning, knowledge-sharing, and professional growth. The new investment is expected to accelerate this transformation. Osnova’s goal is to become the central hub of Uzbek-language digital education and to systematize learning processes; the new investment will accelerate this transformation.
