Uzbekistan and Qatari company MBK Holding discussed potential cooperation in digital investments, startups, and artificial intelligence. The talks took place amid growing interest from international investors in Uzbekistan’s digital economy.
During the meeting between the Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov and Sheikh Mansour bin Khalifa Al Thani, founder and chairman of MBK Holding, Uzbekistan’s IT ecosystem, the activities of IT Park, and ongoing technological reforms were presented. The parties discussed attracting foreign investment, supporting startups, and expanding IT service exports.
The meeting highlighted artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data centers, cloud technologies, and digital infrastructure as key areas of cooperation. The sides also considered opportunities for joint projects and the expansion of technology investments.
In recent weeks, international interest in Uzbekistan’s technology sector has been noticeably increasing. Within the framework of TIIF 2026, the country has been actively promoting AI, data centers, and innovative infrastructure projects as new investment directions. Against this backdrop, negotiations with Qatari investors can be seen as another step in Uzbekistan’s strategy to become a regional technology hub.
Founded in Doha in 1969, MBK Holding operates across various sectors and has implemented more than 100 investment projects in several countries around the world. The company’s engagement with Uzbekistan could potentially bring a new inflow of international capital into the country’s startup and AI ecosystem in the coming years.
