Zypl.ai, a fintech startup specializing in Artificial Intelligence, has successfully closed a strategic investment round, raising $2M. Following the deal, the company’s post-money valuation has reached $80M.
Investment details
The round was led by Khafiz Shakhidi, the majority shareholder of Alif Capital Holdings and Chairman of Jefferson Capital. Zypl.ai’s previous backers include prestigious international firms such as Prosus Ventures, Carbide Ventures, and Plug & Play.
The newly raised capital is earmarked for the following key priorities:
- Further development of the company’s proprietary zGAN model;
- Integration of synthetic data technologies into the Alif digital banking ecosystem;
- Global scaling of credit scoring and fraud prevention (anti-fraud) solutions.
Currently, zypl.ai’s solutions are utilized by more than 60 financial institutions across 20 markets worldwide. Founded at Stanford University, the project continues to be a pioneer in generative AI for the financial sector.
Investment performance for Uzbekistan’s venture funds
The surge in valuation to $80M has delivered high returns for the startup’s early-stage investors—specifically, the Uzbek funds AloqaVentures and UzVC.
AloqaVentures: strategic exit and portfolio value
In July 2022, the fund invested $150,000 at a $6M valuation, acquiring a 2.5% stake.
- In October 2025, the fund sold half of its holdings (1.25%), realizing $451,500 in proceeds—a 6.02x multiplier on that portion.
- Following the latest round, the fund’s remaining 1.25% stake is valued at approximately $1M.
- The combined value of cash-out proceeds and the remaining stake has reached $1.45M, representing a 9.7x return on the initial investment.
UzVC: capital appreciation exceeding 13x
The National Venture Fund UzVC also committed $100,000 in 2022, securing a 1.67% stake.
- Unlike AloqaVentures, UzVC has opted to retain its entire holding.
- At the current $80M valuation, UzVC’s stake is worth approximately $1.34M.
- Within a short timeframe, this investment has demonstrated a remarkable 13.3x growth multiple for the fund.
The momentum surrounding Zypl.ai highlights the potent synergy between innovative AI stacks and the rapidly evolving fintech markets of Central Asia. For Uzbekistan’s venture capital landscape, this success serves as a landmark case study, proving the international potential and scalability of the local ecosystem.
