Kazakhstan’s leading fintech and e-commerce company, Kaspi.kz, has introduced Kasper, an AI-powered shopping assistant designed to make product discovery faster, smarter, and more personalized. The new feature aims to eliminate the need for users to sift through countless listings, compare specifications manually, and read hundreds of reviews before making a purchase.
Search with natural language instead of keywords
Traditional online marketplaces rely on keyword-based searches, often requiring customers to refine filters and compare multiple products themselves. Kasper changes this experience by allowing users to describe what they need in everyday language.
For example, instead of searching for a specific laptop model, a customer can simply ask for “a lightweight laptop with long battery life that’s suitable for video editing.” Kasper will ask follow-up questions when necessary, recommend relevant products, compare their features, and explain the differences in clear, easy-to-understand language.
Kasper supports both Kazakh and Russian and can be accessed through voice or text, making the shopping experience more conversational and accessible. The rollout will begin in Almaty in July, with a gradual expansion planned across Kazakhstan.
Kaspi.kz’s announcement reflects a broader industry trend as technology companies increasingly integrate generative AI into online shopping. Companies such as Amazon, Google, and OpenAI are investing heavily in AI assistants capable of helping consumers discover products, compare options, and make informed purchasing decisions through natural conversations.
By launching Kasper, Kaspi.kz is positioning itself alongside these global players while bringing conversational AI to one of Central Asia’s largest digital ecosystems.
Kaspi Market currently hosts over 106,000 merchants and offers more than 20 million products. As online marketplaces continue to grow, the challenge is no longer product availability but helping customers quickly find the right option among millions of choices.
With Kasper, Kaspi.kz aims to transform product search from a keyword-driven experience into a personalized AI conversation—marking another step in the company’s broader strategy of embedding artificial intelligence into its everyday digital services.
