Kazakhstan has expanded its Investment Tax Residency Programme, aimed at attracting foreign investors to the country. The updated program now allows investors to use an additional investment instrument to qualify for residency.
Under the program, eligible foreign nationals can obtain long-term investor visas and Kazakhstan tax residency by meeting the required investment conditions.
Previously, the program covered investments in shares of AIFC-registered companies, funds, and securities listed on the Astana International Exchange (AIX). The minimum investment requirement for these instruments is $60,000.
The updated rules introduce an additional investment option with a minimum threshold of $150,000. The required amount must be maintained throughout the investor’s participation in the program.
The program is available to foreign nationals aged 18 and above who are not citizens of Kazakhstan and have not been tax residents of the country during the previous 20 years.
According to the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), the changes are aimed at strengthening Kazakhstan’s position as an international financial hub and attracting more foreign capital. The expanded program gives foreign investors another pathway to establish a long-term financial and tax presence in Kazakhstan.
