Uzbekistan is launching a new program to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence across businesses. Under the “AI Partner for 10,000 Enterprises” initiative, the government will compensate 50% of the costs associated with implementing AI technologies.
Businesses developing AI models for new products will also be able to use the country’s supercomputer infrastructure free of charge. Research and development expenses for such projects will be covered by the state budget.
Uzbekistan has already launched its first supercomputer cluster at the Center for Digital Government Project Management. Its computing capacity is expected to increase threefold next year.
Ready-to-use AI solutions will also be made available to entrepreneurs through an open platform. At least $100 million will be allocated to the first stage of the program.
The initiative will also expand beyond the technology sector. Based on experience in the textile industry, similar measures will be introduced in the electrical engineering, construction materials and food industries, with the government covering 50% of the costs of implementing automated management systems.
According to official data, 54% of entrepreneurs that adopted modern management and AI approaches saw a significant increase in demand for their products. 25% reported lower production costs, while 40% saw revenue growth that enabled them to increase employee salaries by more than 10%. The measures are aimed at accelerating the adoption of AI not only in the technology sector, but also across Uzbekistan’s broader real economy.
