
The Open Data Challenge hackathon will take place from January 24 to 26, 2024, at the “New Uzbekistan” University. The event is organized by IT Park in collaboration with the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan, with the support of the State Committee on Statistics and the Anti-Corruption Agency.
About Open Data Challenge
Open Data Challenge is an annual hackathon focused on creating technological solutions using open data. The competition aims to unlock the social and economic potential of government and municipal open data, foster a professional community in the field, and develop relevant skills for government and local authorities as well as hackathon participants.
Technological solutions should be presented in one of the following categories:
- Public sector
- Business sector
- Anti-corruption
- Social sector
Who can participate?
The hackathon is open to everyone interested. Participants are required to attend all events, develop digital solutions (applications, services, devices) using open data, and upload their code to the GitHub platform. Applications can be submitted individually or as a team (up to three members per team).
Activities during the event:
- Preliminary competitions in four key areas;
- Specialized workshops with industry experts on using open data;
- Four online webinars and one offline workshop on open data before the hackathon.
Schedule of webinars and training sessions:
- December 24 – Webinar on the public sector;
- December 26 – Webinar on the business sector;
- January 7 – Webinar on anti-corruption;
- January 9 – Webinar on the social sector;
- January 17 – Workshop on working with open data for hackathon participants.
