Uzbekistan’s Uzpromstroybank (SQB) and Huawei have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and banking infrastructure. The agreement aims to accelerate SQB’s digital transformation and expand the use of AI-powered solutions across its banking operations.
Under the partnership, the two sides will collaborate on integrating AI into banking processes, modernizing technological infrastructure, and expanding digital services for customers. During the signing ceremony, Huawei experts also presented case studies from China’s financial sector, demonstrating how AI has been successfully deployed to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
Tang Xiaoxiang, Director of Huawei Uzbekistan, noted that Huawei and SQB have already completed several joint infrastructure projects. He said the new agreement marks the next phase of cooperation, focusing on intelligent technologies, digital innovation, and AI adoption in Uzbekistan’s banking sector.
Sergey Kozlov, SQB’s Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer, described the memorandum as an important milestone in the bank’s technology strategy. According to him, Huawei’s global expertise will help SQB accelerate its digital transformation, develop AI-powered financial products, and strengthen innovation within Uzbekistan’s banking industry.
Huawei has more than 16 years of experience delivering technology solutions for the financial sector and currently works with over 7,100 financial institutions across 80 countries. The partnership is expected to help bring international best practices and advanced AI technologies into Uzbekistan’s rapidly evolving banking ecosystem.
